After my last column/end of July I attended the Joint Diablo and GGR Region DE 101 aka “Ground School” with many first timers attending, learning what make PCA and region program so inclusive and successful. The joint efforts of Diablo and GGR are really moving both the DE programs to new and exciting levels with even more consistency. The week after I attended the Sonoma raceway Diablo DE on Friday and the GGR DE, PCA Club races and time trials on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday afternoon track walk, Parade laps were held as well, along with Cars & Coffee. Something for everyone. Huge shout out to The Diablo and GGR DE team, ALL the volunteers & National Club Racing staff. Ohhh and many very happy participants. I was using my PCA app and signed up three new members that weekend.
Into July. The Sierra Nevada Region held a meet greet, tech quiz and round 3 of the Zone 7 Series Concours. High desert weather brought rain on Saturday night prompting some parking lot cleaning for me on Sunday. The beautiful Genoa area and park again brought rain in the AM, that didn’t dampen any spirits and hey nothing wrong with another quick detail job. The day cleared up, weather was perfect and the Concours continued. Tip of the hat to the Sierra Nevada team for shuffling a bit when needed and continuing with a fantastic event.
Just last weekend I visited the Monterey Region Concours in Paradise, Round 4 of the Zone 7 series. 85 cars in judged and display. Some amazing BBQ, beautiful cars and so many wonderful discussions with members.
Next, I will be sailing with Princess Cruises/Treffen at Sea. I hope to say hello to the Zone 7 cruisers. Don’t forget all the incredibly special PCA events and activities on board. Including Sunday “day 1 … the 28th” with activities including the ZONE GATHERING.
Whooo-hoo Zone 7 let’s make some noise!
Werks Reunion is Friday August 16th, Many Zone 7 Regions & Members will be present. I look forward to saying “HI.” to those there.
